Oscar Run and The Nom Tally… So Far

Oscar Run and The Nom Tally… So Far

Back in late January, I shared with you about my annual Oscar Run right after the Academy Award nominations were announced. It’s a tradition of mine for decades to try to see all of the nominees for the core six performance and directing categories (best actor and actress, best supporting actor and actress, best director and best picture). This year, I upped the ante and added four other categories (#whatthehellwasIthinking) I included the nominees for adapted screenplay, original screenplay, documentary feature and animated feature. Oy. That’s like another 20 nominations. Holy cow!  Thankfully, many of them overlap some of the other categories.

Here’s how I’m doing so far in each category, with just two weekends and a total of 9 possible viewing days left. At the time I first announced my Oscar Run viewing needs, I listed all of the films in order of the most nominations in those 10 categories to check off the list. This doesn’t include the films I had already seen before the Oscars announcement such as BLACK PANTHER, VICE, RBG, and ISLE OF DOGS. Let’s see my progress so far…
