This is it…day 10 of the 10-day movie challenge. It’s been a fun but busy 10 days since my Facebook friend tagged me to do the following:
For this last entry, I decided to break the rules a little bit. Okay, a lot. My 10th film is actually FOUR. But not reallllllly. It’s more a genre of film…the Romantic Comedy or RomCom, for short. I’m hard-wired for romantic comedy. And the four examples of films that do it best are all-time favorites who share one common thread – well, two actually – and there are other connections between some… some pay homage to earlier films, some by the same directors, some have the same leading man…lots of connections across these films but the simple truth is I couldn’t pick just one of them as #10 on the list because I truly love them all. They are: IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (1934), THE SURE THING (1985), SAY ANYTHING (1989) and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989).
I didn’t even bother trying to stump any of my Facebook friends picking obscure scenes or oddball film stills. After all, I was breaking the rules anyway. Instead, I chose images that represent some of my favorite scenes from each of the films.
Learn why this genre of film, particularly these four examples, have left such an impression on me and reinforced what I’ve known all along about true love. It starts with something more. Much more.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this cinematic journey with me and had as much fun as I did picking movies, blogging and gushing about the films. And as always, thanks for reading (and listening). x ~ Chris K.
