This past week has given us some unbelievable headlines – from sweeping tornadoes that have destroyed towns to the unexpected news that beloved Monkee Davy Jones had passed. The year 2012 has been chock full of surprising deaths and major events around the world so far with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
As a child especially, we can witness catastrophes, monumental achievements and untimely deaths and not fully comprehend what we’re seeing but they can leave a long-lasting impression nevertheless.
This week’s Kuhnspiration creative writing exercise asks you to reflect on…
What famous headlines during your childhood or youth left the greatest impression on you as the events unfolded before you – on TV or radio, in newspapers or magazines, online? And thinking back to yourself at that time, what thoughts were running through your mind as you witnessed it?
It’s always fascinating to hear from different generations and learn about how different events can impact young, impressionable people in similar ways. I’ll check back with you later in the week, but in the meantime, feel free to leave here your own thoughts as comments or on my Facebook page. I look forward to hearing more about it!
Cheers to finding that daily spark in your life!
