Once more, tragedy struck the music world this month in a year painted with loss for music fans with the unexpected death of the Great Purple One in April. My #SongOfTheDay selections weren’t able to feature him all that much (entirely due to Prince’s tight controls of his work which prevents much of it being available via YouTube and other sites). But I did manage to pay tribute as best I could through some of the artists he wrote for, as well. Then there was a special Tax Week #SOTD edition which celebrated some classic money-tinged tunes. Hope you enjoyed this month’s song selections. I sure had a blast being DJ for my Friends, as always!

APRIL 2016 — This month of music is marked with another eclectic mix of artists and genres, everything from Ed Sheeran to Schoolhouse Rock! I continued my newest weekly music feature — #ForgottenTunes — and celebrated some old faves from the 80s that simply don’t get played like their other overplayed counterparts on 80s-90s radio formats. What will May deliver? Who will be paying tribute to this month? Oh gosh, my poor rock and roll heart can’t handle any more big losses in the music world. It’s been such a rough year.
