I love music —always have, always will. Rumor has it that in the days before people actually placed their children safely in the back seat, I was known to rock out as a toddler between mom and dad in the front seat to Jackson 5 and other Motown classics. (Bench seats in automobiles…remember that?)
Music is constantly flowing through my head no matter what I’m doing. It moves me, it pushes me, it soothes me. I look at the world as one big music video. You can thank MTV for that. (And for younger readers here, yes, there really was a day when MTV played actual music videos.)
So in the spirit of those glorious musical notes, this week’s Kuhnspiration creative challenge is…
Write the musical of your life. Most musicals have at least three acts – some four. So break out your life into acts and lay out the soundtrack. Share what song or songs (or hell, whole albums if you like) best describe or represent that act and share why.
Paint a picture with words and music in a unique musical composition of your own. And have fun with it all. Maybe for inspiration, pull out the vinyl and cassettes if you still have them and dare I say it — 8-tracks! Anyone? — and to quote one quite cheery, lovely Corrinne Bailey Rae, put your records on, play me your favorite song, you go ahead, let your hair down.
Cheers to finding that daily spark in your life!
