Your Weekly Kuhnspiration (September 17, 2012)

This year, the blog has been an interesting adventure, because when I made the decision to pose a new creative thinking question every week that I would not only ask others to contemplate but answer myself, I wasn’t really sure what I would discover – about me or about others.

I’m taking suggestions for next year’s blog exercise, by the way, so feel free to send me any of your ideas. So far, in the past four years, besides developing the weekly Kuhnspiration creative thinking challenge, I’ve written and completed a short story (one paragraph a day); created the Five to Try monthly challenge during which I challenged myself to try five new things every month; and created a 365-day Flickr photo gallery by taking a photo each day and posting it to represent the mood and feel of that day. So what’s next? Hmm. Who knows, but I welcome your ideas.

For this week’s Kuhnspiration, I want to piggy-back on that concept of seeking help from others. It’s very easy to work in a vacuum for me, and sometimes I find myself doing it and not even realizing it until it’s too late. Do you have areas of your life where maybe you should extend outside of your comfort zone to ask others who know more than you on a certain subject but perhaps you’ve opted not to reach out to them? This week, I am going to nudge you to allow yourself to A-S-K.

What are some areas in your life where you could reach out to others for support, skill-building or knowledge to help yourself but for which you haven’t?

This could be just the friendly push all of us need to reach out and say “hey” to someone who might be able to help you change your life where you’re seeking clarity or improvement, or simply enable you to become much more informed about something important to you.

Good luck and I’ll be checking in later in the week with my own response to the challenge question.

Cheers to finding that daily spark in your life!

Chris
